Convent Hall, located in Mount Saint Annes, Milltown is hailed as 'the most unique and high spec units ever offered to the market in Ireland'. (Irish Independent 28.03.03). Notably spacious and impressively transformed by accentuating the original features of the convent, the design team has achieved first rate results. Park Developments, with O'Mahony Pike Architects have upgraded the old convent building to a complex of top class apartments.

Each apartment features gas fired central heating (GFCH), a gas stove or decorative gas fire, with all original cast iron fireplaces from the old convent retained where possible.

Benefits of using the Exausto and Prefabricated Flue Assembly

Connections (Gas & Electric) Ltd surveyed the site and confirmed that only some apartments could avail of the original chimney. In all other cases, a gather box and Exhausto Fan System were installed. A template was taken from the existing cast iron fireplaces in the convent and a 'Genesis' gas fire was customised for each. Please note typical specification and technical details in first picture on right showing the Fire Flue Options to Facilitate Customised Fire:

• Option 1 : The Exhausto Flue system supplied by Heating Distributors concealed within the chimney breast and with termination to an external wall.
  
• Option 2 : Flue Liner placed within the existing chimneys.

Technical Data:

The fan type RSVG, installed on an external wall enables for the installation of larger decorative gas fire in rooms without a chimney. The power of the fan draws fumes along horizontal flues of up to 15 metres in length, with flue gases being expelled downwards through secure grills on the underside of the fan housing. Outer diameter of flue - 10' / 250mm. Gather Box - as specified by Connections (Gas & Electric) Ltd.
